Papers [microform], 1862-1865.

Six volumes of diaries, notes, and clippings kept by a Detroit newspaperman and member of the 24th Regiment of Michigan Volunteers. The papers describe his activities on behalf of the temperance movement as a member of the Sons of Temperance and the Good Templars, his work as a war correspondent for the Detroit "Free Press," and the Civil War service of his regiment in the famous "Iron Brigade."
